Battery Tests

The ELDORADO laboratory has state-of-the-art equipment to carry out tests in both the electrical and safety aspects, meeting the main market standards.

The tests can be used both for certification of the batteries and for their development.

The laboratory performs tests on batteries with the following chemical characteristics:

  • NiCd (Nickel cadmium);
  • MiMH (Nickel-metal hydride);
  • SLA (sealed lead acid battery);
  • Li-ion (Lithium-ion, Lithium-polymer and Li-Ph (Lithium phosphate).

The infrastructure consists of:

2 Climate Chambers:

  • A Climatic Chamber that operates in the range -72 ° C to + 180 C ° with a rate of 25 ° C / minute and humidity control from 10 to 98% (10 ° C to 95 ° C);
  • A Climatic Chamber that operates in the range -40 ° C to + 180 C ° with a rate of 2.5 ° C / minute and humidity control from 10 to 98% (10 ° C to 95 ° C);

2 Thermal Chambers: 

  • They operate in the range -73 ° C to + 177 C ° at a rate of 5 ° C / minute.

3 Thermal Greenhouses: 

  • They operate in the range 0 ° C to + 60 ° C.

Battery Analyzers: 

  • System capable of measuring battery capacity, carrying out charges and discharges, measuring internal resistance.

Ability to perform tests such as: 

  • System for conducting the Actual Capacity test under Nominal Regime;
  • System for carrying out the test Capacity in Regime with High Discharge Current;
  • System for carrying out the Prolonged Load test;
  • External Short Circuit test system;
  • System for performance testing Performance against loading and unloading cycles (durability);
  • Systems for conducting testing Electrostatic Discharge Immunity;
  • System for carrying out Load Retention tests – Self-discharge;
  • System for carrying out the Capacity Recovery test after Load Retention;
  • System for carrying out the capacity recovery test after storage in partial load state;
  • Internal Resistance test system;
  • System for conducting an overload test;
  • System for conducting a Free Fall test;
  • Thermal Cycling test system;
  • System for conducting the Thermal Abuse test;
  • High Temperature Stress test system.

  • IEC 62133
