Sustainability

Dear employees and partners,

On ELDORADO’s 25th anniversary, we present the first edition of our Annual Sustainability Report, aligned with the corporate mission to improve the quality of life of the Brazilian population through education, employment, and technology.

By adopting responsible practices committed to social, governance, and environmental issues, ELDORADO reaffirms its commitment not only to its statutory objectives but also to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which guide the global agenda for a fairer and more sustainable future by 2030.

We seek to be ahead of the market in technology, bringing innovations that promote the sustainability of our business and improve the quality of life of the Brazilian population, while maintaining and strengthening our partnerships and the trust in our brand.

We wish to be an inspiration for other institutes and organizations like ours. To ensure alignment, we listen carefully to our stakeholders and prioritize the material topics applicable to the institute’s objectives.

Our strategic plan and investments are aligned with our statutory objectives and material topics, aiming to maximize the positive impact of our performance in the Brazilian market of Private Science and Technology Institutes (ICTs).

Social

The ELDORADO Research Institute plays a fundamental role in social responsibility and sustainable development in Brazil. As a Civil Society Organization of Public Interest (OSCIP), ELDORADO is an essential partner for companies seeking to invest sustainably. Our mission is to improve the quality of life in the country through science and technology, as well as to train talents for the Brazilian technology market. Through strategic collaborations, we work on R&D projects aligned with the corporate values of our partners, promoting significant social impacts.

With units in Brasília, Campinas, Porto Alegre, and Manaus, ELDORADO implements Research & Development (R&D) projects that foster social and sustainable development in various regions of Brazil.

We highlight the growth of the Manaus unit, which has played a transformative role in the local ecosystem, one of the most underserved regions in Brazil. The expansion of this unit not only strengthened our technological innovation capacity but also had a significant socioeconomic impact through the creation of high-tech jobs. By offering qualified job opportunities and training in advanced technologies, we are actively contributing to the sustainable development of the region. This initiative not only helps reduce national economic disparities but also promotes social inclusion and the professional growth of local residents, strengthening the community and stimulating the regional economy.

Collaborative Actions with the Community:

  • Training and Education: Initiatives such as the “TIC em Trilhas” and “Academy” programs trained more than 2,400 people in 2023. Additionally, we supported over 400 scholarship holders in partnerships with universities and funding agencies.

  • Employment and Growth: More than 500 new hires at operational locations, highlighting the expansion of the Manaus unit, which now has over 400 employees.

  • Gender Equality: Highlights include initiatives such as “ELD por ELAS,” ELDORADO’s women’s committee, “Trilha para Elas,” a technology training program exclusively for women, and the “ELAS no ELD” internship, which attracted over 1,500 applicants in 2023.

  • Inclusion of People with Disabilities: The “Projeto Oficina PcD” promotes the integration and training of dozens of participants every year, with 74% of participants hired in 2023.

Employee Appreciation:

  • Differentiated Benefits: We offer extended maternity and paternity leaves, childcare assistance, among others, aiming at the well-being and motivation of the team.

  • Corporate University: We have a robust continuous training program that encourages advanced education for our employees, including master’s and doctoral degrees.

  • The results of these initiatives are evident, with more than 170 courses available and over 2,000 people trained in 2023 alone.

Environmental

Environmental sustainability is fundamental to our organization. We employ rigorous waste management strategies, collaborating with suppliers to ensure responsible disposal. We prioritize the use of recyclable and biodegradable materials in our daily activities.

Although water use is not intensive in our operations, we adopt strict policies to reduce water consumption and promote awareness about water sustainability among our employees.

We are committed to reducing energy consumption; to this end, we have optimized our lighting systems and renewed the air conditioning systems. These actions led to a significant 15% reduction in energy consumption per square meter from 2022 to 2023.

In addition, we offer electromagnetic compatibility testing services. These tests ensure that our clients’ electronic devices operate efficiently with minimal electromagnetic radiation emissions, contributing to the reduction of electromagnetic pollution—a direct benefit to human health and environmental preservation.
